Dumb intake question.....

Kev's thread about intake leak and you alls comments about 4 corner cooling...

I missing something??? you gotta have the water come out the top two ports and into the typical t-stat housing, how in hell else is the water going to get out of the engine?? my L98 even had a 3/8 hose from the rear position to the heater return line....

never seen a engine without some return from the heads....

For many years there was NO water return from the rear of the intake. All went to the front. Somewhere they decided to run a heater hose off the right rear. The only other real cooling system mod I've seen is drilling the heads between the center exhaust ports and running some -3AN lines from there to the t'stat housing. that took a little machine work. As I recall they put some tubes in the drilled holes to get the water closer to the exhaust valve seats. (On second thought, that may have been a repair to a GM 6.2 or 6.5 diesel)
