Hello fellow vetters/vettsters!.
I'm from Airdrie Alberta, Canada.
I just bought a 79 L48 with 47K Kilometers(28K Miles).
White paint and blue interior,, PW, Air Cond, Tilt/Tele.
All original, owned by 2 women, both over 50. (no BS!)
Still has the original tires on it.
Parked in 2003.
Well maintained, amazing condition!

I'm sure I'll have some questions for the members here, especially around parking brake repair,,,,,,,,.
I'd like to keep it as original as possible,, it won't take much!
I need new intake hose/ducts, hood insulation, parking brake fixed and a new plastic center air intake oh yah,, new tires!( I don't trust 30 year old tires for some reason?).
I want to change motor oil, tranny oil(at leat 2X), diff oil, antifreeze/coolant, new belts, new hoses and suck new brake fluid through the lines.
Anything else I should do?
I have a assembly manual and a shop service manual ordered and a plan on picking up a Haynes as well. Should cover almost everything right?

I'm quite excited about the car,, and finding this forum!

Take care, drive safe,, talk to y'all later!.
David.

Hi David, welcome to vetteMOD.

You'll find answers to most if not all your questions here in the tech section.

Since you already have the assembly/shop manual I wouldn't waste money on the Haynes, the assembly and shop manual are far superior.

Welcome :hi: Yes, the haynes, chiltons and whatever else is there...pretty worthless. The Helms shop manual is the book to get.

Hello everyone,,, thanks for the replies.

The manuals,,, I've paid for them and awaiting delivery so I'll keep them.
The Helms manual,,, where do I get one of those?

Thanks.
David.
